A plan you can trust

I will do everything i can to take your concerns to the authorities who do have power, to request the resources we need, to push for action, and to follow up relentlessly until things get done. I won't make promises I can't keep. But I promise you this: I will never stop advocating for Feydhoo Maadhela

Basic Services for Every Household

What I Will Fight For: Reliable access to clean water, stable electricity, and efficient sewage services for every household in Feydhoo.

How i will make it happen:

  • Listen and document: I will conduct household surveys to identify exactly where water pressure is weak, where power cuts happen most often, and where sewage systems are failing. I will bring this evidence to the relevant authorities.

  • Advocate relentlessly: I will request infrastructure upgrades, push for faster maintenance response times, and demand expansion to underserved areas.

  • Use council resources strategically: I will propose local budget allocations for what the council can directly support things like minor pipe repairs, advocacy campaigns, and community backup systems like shared water storage or generator coordination.

  • Demand accountability: I will set up a complaint tracking system so residents can see their concerns are being followed up on. I will push for service-level agreements that hold providers accountable—for example, fixing outages within a set number of hours.

  • Follow up without stopping: When I raise an issue, I won't let it go. I will follow up with weekly calls, written requests, and public reporting until residents tell me the problem is solved.

Why I Can Do This:
Even though councils don't control utilities, we have influence. We have the power to advocate, to prioritize needs in council planning, and to hold authorities accountable publicly. I will use every tool available to make sure your voice is heard and acted upon.

Strong Representation and Public Participation

What I Will Fight For: Your voice being heard, respected, and included in every major decision that affects Feydhoo.

How i will make it happen:

  • Create spaces for your voice: I will establish regular community meetings—monthly or quarterly—where you can raise concerns, suggest projects, and question council decisions directly.

  • Make participation easy: I will set up suggestion boxes in key locations, online feedback forms, and social media polls so you can share your views in whatever way works for you.

  • Bring your voice to the table: Before any major project or decision, I will share plans publicly, collect your feedback, and advocate for adjustments based on what you tell me. I will then bring your views to city council meetings and national-level discussions.

  • Report back: After I raise your concerns, I will follow up with authorities and come back to tell you what happened, whether we got the result we wanted or not. You deserve to know.

  • Focus on those often left out: I will hold dedicated sessions for youth, women, and elderly residents who may not use digital tools. Everyone deserves to be heard.

Why I Can Do This:
Councils directly control public meetings and community engagement processes. This doesn't require heavy funding just organization, commitment, and transparency. I am committed to making sure your voice is never ignored.

Transparency and Digital Council Services

What I Will Fight For: Full transparency in council work and accessible digital services so you can easily access information, track decisions, and follow up on requests.

How i will make it happen:

  • Push for digital services: I will advocate for the council to digitize permit applications, complaint submissions, and service requests through a simple website, mobile-friendly forms, or even WhatsApp—so you don't have to visit the council office repeatedly.

  • Make information public: I will use Facebook and a simple website to post council decisions, announce projects, share updates, and notify service interruptions. You will know what the council is doing.

  • Publish budgets clearly: I will request that budgets and spending be made public with simple charts and short explanations—so you can see exactly where council funds are going.

  • Track complaints publicly: I will advocate for a system where each complaint gets a tracking number and residents can see its status: pending, in progress, or completed. This builds real accountability.

  • Push for digital record-keeping: I will request that council decisions, meeting minutes, and policies be stored digitally and made accessible to the public—so no information is hidden.

  • Ensure accessibility: I will advocate for staff training to manage digital tools, and for services to be simple to use, with help available for elderly residents and those unfamiliar with technology.

Why I Can Do This:

Councils control their own communication systems. Digital tools today are low-cost and easy to implement. Platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp are already widely used in Feydhoo. I will push to make these tools work for you.

Building Our Youth and Providing Opportunities

What I Will Fight For: Empowering the youth of Feydhoo by expanding access to training, creating pathways to jobs and entrepreneurship, and ensuring their voices shape our community's future.

How i will make it happen:

  • Request training opportunities: I will work with training institutions like Maldives Polytechnic to request short courses in electrical and plumbing, IT and digital skills, and hospitality and tourism. I will also request that trainers come directly to Feydhoo.

  • Connect youth to employers: I will coordinate with local businesses in Addu City to request internship programs and apprenticeships. I will also organize CV preparation and interview practice sessions.

  • Support youth entrepreneurship: I will advocate for small business support programs and request guidance sessions on starting a business, marketing, and financial basics. I will promote home-based and online businesses by connecting youth to available resources.

  • Advocate for youth spaces: I will request improvements to youth centers, sports facilities, and community activity programs. I will push for funding and resources to keep youth engaged and build community spirit.

  • Bring youth voices to the table: I will create a Youth Advisory Group and request that youth representatives be included in council discussions. I will hold youth-specific consultations to ensure their views are heard.

  • Push for digital opportunities: I will request digital skills training and advocate for freelancing, remote work, and online learning opportunities to be promoted and accessible to Feydhoo's youth.

Why I Can Do This:

As council member, I can coordinate with institutions and businesses, advocate for budget allocations, and organize community initiatives. I will act as a connector and a facilitator—bringing opportunities to Feydhoo and advocating for the resources our youth deserve.

Education and School Support

What I Will Fight For: Stronger learning environments, better support for students and teachers, and more opportunities for academic and personal development.

How i will make it happen:

  • Improve the environment around schools: Even though schools are managed nationally, the council can improve surrounding infrastructure. I will advocate for safe roads and crossings near schools, clean environments, and proper waste management.

  • Request facility improvements: I will coordinate with authorities to request minor repairs and facility upgrades. I will follow up to ensure these requests are not ignored.

  • Organize community learning support: I will work with volunteers to organize after-school tutoring programs and exam preparation sessions for students who need extra help.

  • Advocate for digital resources: I will request that students have access to online learning platforms and digital tools. I will advocate for community study spaces with internet access.

  • Support teachers: I will request that teachers be recognized and appreciated publicly. I will advocate for training workshops and community support initiatives—because when teachers feel supported, students succeed.

  • Strengthen school-community links: I will hold joint meetings with parents, schools, and the council. I will support parent-teacher engagement initiatives to build stronger connections.

  • Advocate for extracurricular opportunities: I will request support for sports programs, arts and cultural activities, and leadership and debate clubs. These opportunities matter as much as academics.

  • Look out for vulnerable students: I will identify students who need financial help or learning support and coordinate assistance through community programs. I will follow up to ensure no child is left behind.

Why I Can Do This:

As council member, I can advocate for school needs to higher authorities, coordinate between parents, teachers, and services, and organize community-based support programs. I will be the voice for our schools and our children.
